Harold Mabern and Eric Alexander, whose prolific collaboration is documented on many albums destined to become classics, are co-leading the centerpiece of our year-ending Coltrane Festival for the fifth year. JazzTimes says, “the rapport between Mabern and Alexander seems nearly telepathic.”

The one and only Jimmy Cobb, who is featured with the quartet, is a true jazz legend who is partly famous as the drummer on Miles Davis’ Kind of Blue as well as many other career highlights. Playing with more vitality, purpose and hard driving swing in his late 80s than drummers a fraction of his age, Cobb is a force of nature. The New York Times called his recent recording, The Original Mob, his best album in recent memory” and “a cogent argument against obsolescence.”
