Vocalist Karrin Allyson is widely recognized as one of the most gifted jazz singers of her generation. Well known for her lyrical balladry and adept skill at interpreting instrumental jazz songs with her lithe vocalese technique, Allyson rose to prominence in the 1990s singing standards and Bossa Novas, but also contemporary covers of pop songs. Downbeat says, “There are so many ways to savor Karrin Allyson’s artistry. Start with her voice, its rare clarity and resonant timbre. She phrases impeccably, staying close to the melody, except on the occasional scat chorus. Everything she sings seems to rise from a smile.” Karrin will be joined by a superb trio featuring pianist Bruce Barth, bassist Endea Owens, and drummer Mark Walker.
